Frequently Asked Questions
Connecting space owners with those who need parking/storage solutions. We provide the platform - you make the agreement.
📢 MVP Phase Notice: ParknStore is currently in our initial launch phase with manual facilitation. We are not a party to rental agreements between Hosts and Guests. All users are solely responsible for their agreements, compliance with laws, and resolving any disputes.
What is ParknStore? +

ParknStore is currently in our MVP (Minimum Viable Product) launch phase. We're manually connecting space owners ("Hosts") with those needing parking/storage ("Guests") as we build our full automated platform. During this phase, our team personally facilitates introductions and helps coordinate agreements between users.

What does "MVP Phase" mean? +

MVP stands for "Minimum Viable Product." This means we're launching ParknStore in its simplest form to:

  • Validate that our solution meets real user needs
  • Test our processes and systems with a small group of early adopters
  • Gather feedback to improve before building our full automated platform

During this phase, you'll work directly with our team who will personally facilitate connections and payments.

⚠️ Please note: As an MVP user, you might experience occasional manual processes as we refine our systems. We appreciate your patience and feedback!
How does ParknStore make money? +

During our MVP launch phase, we are waiving all service fees to validate our platform and build our community.

For Guests:

The price you agree on with the Host is the price you pay. You will not be charged any additional fees by ParknStore during our MVP phase.

For Hosts:

We are currently charging 0% service fees during our MVP phase. The full amount agreed with your Guest will be paid to you (minus only any actual payment processing costs).

📢 Important: Once we launch our automated platform, ParknStore will introduce service or lead generation fees. Any changes will be communicated in advance.
What is ParknStore's role in the rental? +

ParknStore facilitates connections on our platform. We do not own, lease, manage, or insure any of the spaces listed on our site. The rental contract is a private agreement between the Host and the Guest.

⚠️ Disclaimer: We are not responsible for the condition, safety, or legality of the space, or for any disputes that arise between users.
How do I list my space? +

You can submit your space details through our website. You will need to provide accurate information including:

  • Size and location of your space
  • Access instructions and availability
  • Any specific rules for Guests
  • Photos of the space
What are my responsibilities as a Host? +

You are solely responsible for:

  • Providing an accurate and truthful description of your space
  • Ensuring your space is safe, legal to rent out, and complies with all local laws
  • Setting clear rules for access, usage, and restrictions
  • Maintaining appropriate insurance for your property
  • Handling any issues or disputes directly with your Guest
What fees will I pay as a Host? +

During our MVP phase: You pay 0% in service fees. We're waiving all fees to build our community and test our systems.

💡 Note: Any future fees will be clearly displayed before you confirm any booking.
How do I rent a space? +

During our MVP (validation) phase, here's how it works:

📋 Current process:
  1. Tell us what you need via the "Find a Space" form on our website
  2. Our team manually matches you with suitable Hosts in your area
  3. We facilitate the introduction and help coordinate details
  4. You and the Host agree on terms directly

We don't have an automated booking system yet - we're personally connecting people to validate demand. Once we have Hosts in your desired area, we'll reach out to make the connection.

💡 Tip: The more details you provide about your needs (suburb, space type, frequency), the faster we can match you with a Host.
⚠️ Note: We're currently building our Host network. If we don't have spaces in your area yet, we'll notify you as soon as we do.
What are my responsibilities as a Guest? +

You are solely responsible for:

  • Verifying that the space is suitable and meets your needs before you book
  • Making payments to the Host as agreed upon
  • Adhering to all the Host's rules regarding access hours and usage
  • Securing appropriate insurance for your vehicle or stored items
  • Not storing prohibited items (weapons, hazardous materials, etc.)
What items are prohibited from storage? +

Guests may not store the following items in any ParknStore space:

  • Weapons, firearms, ammunition, explosives
  • Hazardous, toxic, or flammable materials
  • Live animals or plants
  • Perishable food items (unless specifically agreed in writing)
  • Cash, securities, or precious metals/stones
  • Illegal or stolen goods
  • Items producing odors or fumes
  • Any items that would void Host's insurance
⚠️ Warning: Storage of prohibited items will result in immediate termination of your account and may lead to legal action.
Does ParknStore provide insurance? +

ParknStore doesn't provide insurance directly, but we want you to be protected. Here's what you need to know:

For Hosts (space owners):
  • Standard home insurance typically doesn't cover commercial use (renting your space for money)
  • You'll likely need to add "business use" or "home sharing" coverage to your policy
  • Call your insurer and ask: "Does my policy cover me if I rent my unused space (e.g., garage/driveway) to someone?"
  • Some NZ insurers may offer this - always confirm with your provider
For Guests (using a space):
  • Your contents insurance may cover items stored off-site (check your policy)
  • Your vehicle insurance should cover parking anywhere (but confirm with your provider)
  • Ask your insurer: "Am I covered if my car/items are stored at a different address?"
💡 Pro tip: Take photos of your space/items before rental begins. This helps with any potential insurance claims.

Bottom line: Talk to your insurance provider. Every policy is different. We're here to connect people, but protecting your property is your responsibility.

⚠️ Disclaimer: ParknStore does not provide any insurance coverage for stored items, vehicles, or properties. It is the sole responsibility of the Host to insure their property and the sole responsibility of the Guest to insure their belongings or vehicle.
What happens if my items are damaged or stolen? +

First, don't panic. Here's what you should do:

📋 Step-by-step guide:
  • Document everything - Take photos of the damage immediately
  • Contact the other party - Communicate openly with your Host/Guest
  • Check your insurance - Review your policy to see if you're covered
  • File a claim - With your insurance provider if applicable
  • Contact us - We'll help facilitate communication if needed
Who is responsible?

ParknStore doesn't provide insurance coverage for damage, loss, or theft. However, we're here to help:

  • We'll work with both parties to understand what happened
  • We may temporarily suspend listings during dispute resolution
💡 Prevention tip: Before renting, take time-stamped photos of your space or items. This simple step makes insurance claims much easier.
⚠️ Important: ParknStore acts solely as a facilitation platform. We are not a party to rental agreements and assume no liability for spaces or items stored within them. Users are solely responsible for securing appropriate insurance.
How is my personal information protected? +

We take your privacy seriously. We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information, including SSL encryption and secure servers.

We collect information necessary to facilitate your bookings and improve our services. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

For more details, please see our Privacy Policy.
